About
Attorney Gerald K. Burton:
Experience:
Gerald was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1975. He is a former
partner in the firm of Thompson and Burton, P. A. As an attorney he
has extensive experience in the areas of real estate, association
and commercial litigation, including mortgage, association and lien
foreclosures, partition and quiet title. Gerald’s real estate
experience includes commercial and residential transactions, real
estate title and homestead issues, association turn-over and
99-year, commercial and residential leases. He also has experience
in commercial and business matters, including corporate, LLC, LLP,
and other entity creation and related documentation. Gerald has
represented commercial clients in business purchase and sales, and
corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Education:
Gerald graduated from Boston University School of Law with his Juris
Doctorate and received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the
University of Florida.
Experience
in Speaking:
Gerald has spoken and made presentations before the University of Miami
Venture Council Forum, Comdex (the second largest trade show in the
United States), several local bar associations, real estate and other
investment groups, mortgage broker classes at the Gold Coast School, as
well as independent software developer’s associations. He has also
recently served as a speaking panel member at Florida A&M University
College of Law.
Professional
Associations:
Gerald is admitted to practice before all Florida State Courts, the U.S.
District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States
Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the
United States of America. He is also a member in good standing of the
Florida Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association. Gerald
was awarded full member status by Attorneys Title Insurance Fund in
1982, and is a member of the Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust
Law Section.
